Of Interest

Arnold was born in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1942. After his family moved to Auburn, he attended Auburn City Schools. He transferred to and graduated from Baylor School for Boys in 1961. Arnold signed a professional baseball contract as a pitcher with the Milwaukee Braves at age 18. He played for Milwaukee, Atlanta Braves and Houston organizations from 1961-1968. During the off-season, Arnold attended Auburn University and received a B.S. degree in 1969. Arnold received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama Law School and his LLM in Taxation from Emory University. He was admitted and qualified as an Attorney and Counselor of the Supreme Court of the United States. He was a past President of the Auburn Rotary Club, was on the advisory board for the Salvation Army, and received a distinguished service award from the Alabama League of Municipalities.

Arnold married Bobbie Thomas in 1963. They have two sons together: Trip, an attorney in Birmingham, Alabama, and Heath, a Technology Specialist in Human Resources/Risk Management in Massachusetts. They have five grandchildren. Arnold and his wife attend Auburn United Methodist Church.
